A Little Walk Through The Caucasus

Having an addiction to travelling and a girlfriend who lives in Iran, makes life interesting with very little money. However i was looking forward to the challenge of travelling and meeting up with my gf while on a budget. Many of my best travelling experiences have come through a lack of money.

The Caucasus region, around the border of Europe and Asia is somewhere that I've wanted to go for a while. So Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, seemed a good place for me and Zakie to meet and after a bit of googling I found that its neighboring country - Georgia, was much cheaper to fly to & from. With a little look at the map & flight times, I came up with a plan. I would fly to Tbilisi, Georgia, and then make my way to Yerevan. Either walking between the two countries, hitching lifts...whatever I fancied. After a week with Zakie in Yerevan, I would then get the bus back to Georgia for my return flight.

Last year I finished cycling from Cornwall, UK to Laos. I cycled through Europe in the winter with one friend and then through the Middle East, Central Asia, China and into Laos with another friend. I met many nice humans, lots of nasty dogs, Tibetan Monks, got drunk with some Kazakh Police and deported from a country. To summarise - we had fun.
